IFA CRP/hs-CRP Test

Immunofluorescence CRP/hs-CRP (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) Quantitative Rapid Test

Description

Product information

IFA CRP/hs-CRP (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a quantitative rapid test for detecting infection and inflammation using the Immunofluorescence Analyzer. It provides fast, reliable results for professional in vitro diagnostic use. It accurately measures C-Reactive Protein (CRP) and high-sensitivity CRP (hs-CRP) in whole blood, serum, or plasma samples to assess inflammatory conditions and aid in the diagnosis of Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS).

Why Measure CRP and hs-CRP?

CRP and hs-CRP are essential inflammatory markers that help:
  • Detect bacterial and viral infections, tissue damage, and inflammatory disorders.
  • Evaluate cardiovascular risk in patients with or without symptoms.
  • Aid in early diagnosis of conditions such as atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and systemic inflammation

How It Works

This test uses immunofluorescence technology to detect CRP levels. If CRP is present in the sample, it binds to fluorescent beads coated with anti-CRP antibodies. The resulting complex is captured on the test line by immobilized antibodies, and the fluorescence intensity is measured by the Immunofluorescence Analyzer to determine the CRP concentration:
  • Results are quantitative and highly sensitive (hs-CRP)
  • No need for complex lab infrastructure.
  • Fast turnaround for clinical decision-making.

Clinical Significance

Moreover, CRP levels provide critical insight into a variety of conditions. Therefore, high levels are associated with infections, inflammatory disorders, and cardiovascular diseases. The hs-CRP test is particularly useful for evaluating cardiovascular risk, with defined risk categories:
  • <1.0 mg/L – Low risk
  • 1.0–3.0 mg/L – Moderate risk
  • >3.0 mg/L (below 10 mg/L) – High risk

Consequently, CRP levels are also linked to different types of inflammation, such as:

  • Viral infections: 10–40 mg/L
  • Active bacterial infection: 40–200 mg/L
  • Severe bacterial infections or burns: >200 mg/L
  • Moderate inflammation: Levels falling within the range of 10–40 mg/L
